The New England Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, established in 1937, is one of the oldest regional societies of the specialty of colon and rectal surgery. It has an active and collegial membership that uses the Society for collaborating on clinical research projects as illustrated by a recent publication in the Diseases of the Colon and Rectum. Herein we highlight the activities of our Society, and provide access to the scholarly work that is presented at our annual meeting.
The mission of the New England Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons is to advance the field by providing an opportunity for members of the profession to meet in discussion around methods of diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus, and to bring to that discussion their observations and scholarly work. Just as important, the Society seeks to enhance fellowship among New England colorectal surgeons and to educate and engage surgical trainees.
The Society holds an annual, two-day meeting, usually in May or June, at resort locations throughout New England. We welcome everyone's participation in these meetings.
